April 4-6 Dancing Bear Lodge to Host the Dancing Bear Bicycle Bash in Townsend, Tennessee. It began with an inaugural event in early spring of 2006 and drew so many participants that a second one was held in the fall, with an even greater turnout. Cyclists and spectators will gather at Dancing Bear Lodge in Townsend for another Bicycle Bash. The event is expected to once again attract a wide range of riders, from beginners and families to avid racers. April 5 Dogwood 100- Winchester TN All routes are designed to showcase the beauty of Franklin County, TN. This will include a climb to majestic Sewanee Mountain (for 100 and 62 mile riders only), as well as, routes that will take you to places such as Alto, Little Mountain Holder’s Cove, Buncombe, Huntland and Fails Mill. April 19 The Highlands of Alabama Century 08, Fort Payne, Alabama.
The 100/75/50 mile riders will enjoy a ride through Mentone, DeSoto State Park, a gorgeous ride around the rim of Little River Canyon as well as beautiful valley views from both Lookout Mountain and Sand Mountain. The 25 mile option will be an easy route remaining in the valley. Come have fun riding the scenic "Highlands of Alabama" while helping benefit "The Way Home".

May 4 Wheels to Heal Ride, Columbus, GA The event is part of the Columbus Regional Medical Foundation Celebrity Classic Weekend Series to be held April 18-21, which also includes signature golf, tennis, 5K, and 10K run events, as well as a spectacular reception for participants and sponsors. May 10 Big Hill Challenge at Watertown. Watertown, TN- Cyclists of all ages and ability levels are invited to enjoy one of four scenic routes through Wilson, Dekalb, Smith and Cannon counties. The 10-mile loop provides an easy, family-friendly ride through beautiful Watertown. The 31-mile route offers a moderate challenge through rolling terrain, while the 62-mile route includes a scenic ride to Center Hill dam, giving intermediate riders a chance to enjoy some challenging climbs and fast descents. The truly adventurous cyclist can take on the 100-mile “century” route and prove their mettle on some of the best climbs the area has to offer.  http://veloteers.org/
May 12 NAHAAMM-Not As Hard As Assault on Mt. Mitchell. Meet at Sugarlands Visitor Center. The first leg goes from there, along Little River Road, to Townsend and back.
The second leg goes up Newfound Gap Road to Clingman's Dome, and back down.
Some riders choose which leg to ride, some do both.
NOTE: This ride is not an official SMW event, and is for individual participation only, in respect for National Parks Regulations.

May 17-18 Ride 4 a Reason- Morganton, North Carolina.  Ride 4 a Reason will hit the pavement on May 17th and 18th at the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center in Morganton, North Carolina. It will be held on the campus of the J. Iverson Riddle Development Center on a closed 1.3 mile course. Riders will enjoy a festival atmosphere while the riding in a safe environment while raising funds needed to provide innovative programming for families with children birth to age eight with developmental disabilities. May 31 English Mountain Challenge Join Southern Cycling Operations on a ride in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains through Sevier and Cocke Counties. There are 3 different ride options to choose from ( 26, 62 or 109). The full and metric century includes the ascent of English Mountain with grades up to 15-22%. May 31 Jacob Francisco Memorial Century offers 5, 25, 62, 100 mile well-marked, supported routes with awesome views of east Tennessee hills and countryside. Metric and Full Century participants enjoy Buck's Pizza & beverages at the end of the ride. The Tri Cities Road Club hosts the event to raise funds/awareness for the ETSU Foundation for the Jacob Francisco Lectureship at the Quillen College of Medicine, and highlight the e.coli-contaminated wells and springs in Washington County, Tennessee in order to obtain potable water to those residents.
